The project involves the construction of a modern, single storey rear extension to a large, detached, house in Deal, East Kent.

For the brief, the client explained how the existing house provided the ‘hub’ for three generations of the family to come together, including parents, children and grandchildren. However, the original reception rooms were not big enough to accommodate everyone at one time. Therefore, the brief was very simple: provide a large, light filled, sociable and friendly space in which the entire family could gather and hang out as one. It was also requested that the space should fully open up and address the large, south facing garden.

The project included full architectural, interior, kitchen and built-in furniture design services.
